Kit Shannon has always felt a calling to be a lawyer and pursue justice and truth. This was during a time in the early 1900s when this field was dominated by men. In this story Kit will struggle to help a society woman, who has a dark past she doesn't want revealed, and will find herself defending the woman's husband charged with murder. How Kit goes about solving this case will keep you reading far into the night to see how this story will play out.

If you like drama and courtroom scenes played out you will thoroughly enjoy yourself in this series. Although this author co-authored another series about Kit Shannon before this one, he does a great job going solo and continuing to write about Kit and her challenges to be a lawyer and do it show more with dignity and honor in the midst of a very wicked society. Looking forward to reading the next two in this series. show less
