Description

When debutante Jenna Marsten breaks off her engagement a week before her wedding, she's sure life can't get any worse. But among the gifts to be returned is a strange statue...one that came anonymously. Further investigation reveals the statue is from a remote tribe of the Amazon rain forest- and that it came from Jenna's supposedly deceased father! Soon Jenna finds herself in Peru, seeking the love of the father who abandoned her and meaning for her fractured future. And Dr. Adam DeSanto-a show more handsome, bitter widower who helps her father run a jungle hospital, and who happens to loathe "women like Jenna"-is only complicating matters. Then Jenna's life is put at risk. Helpless to save her, Adam cries out to the God he rejected at his wife's death. God hears and answers in ways neither Adam nor Jenna could imagine, finally resolving their pain and renewing their faith in Himself, the future-and each other. show less

This was a fun book to read. I liked the positive attitude of Jenna Marsten and the way her and her father bonded and I loved the interaction and feelings going on between her and Dr. Adam DeSanto. Jenna has just learned her father is alive and well in the Amazon jungle. Since her upcoming marriage has just been postponed by her fiancee, she decides to go in search of him. What she finds in the jungle is a father who has always loved her from afar, a clinic she can help at and a doctor who is trying very hard not to love her and have his heart broken again. I enjoyed the story very much!

Not Exactly Eden is about a young women named Jenna searching for her father. After she gets a strange wedding gift from the Amazon, Jenna realizes that more than ever she wants to find the father she has never known. After her fiance decided to call off the engagement for a time she feels free to go in search of her father on the Amazon. Although from a very rich lifestyle, Jenna feels certain that she will do fine in the Amazon. Nothing prepares her for the brash Spanish Doctor who is her father's assistant. Determined to make him realize she is not a stuck-up rich girl, Jenna braves the jungle and helps with whatever she can. Will she be able to crack through the Dr.'s cold heart and find true love?

Not Exactly Eden, is a cute, fun show more story. It has several funny parts that made me laugh and even smile, and portrayed the characters well. Although this was a cute book, I found myself getting a little bored with it and wishing I was done with it so that I could read something else. If you want to read a story very similar to this, but even better, read:
A Kiss of Adventure by Catherine Palmer

Linda Windsor has some great books that are even better than this, try The Fires of Glenmara Series, It had to be You, and Along Came Jones.
