I've really enjoyed going into Kamala's world but this is the first issue I've felt compelled to write a review for. I know for most people superhero comics are for the fights but what I love is the character stories and this book is full of them. We get so much depth for all the people surrounding her and this is where I fell in love with Bruno. It wasn't quite enough to tip me over into a 5 star (I rarely give those out), mainly because the Spider Man stories were boring.

However, this made me very excited to see what Wilson is doing with my girl Wondy. If she can save the crap that is a universe reboot, that's a talented writer indeed. ( )

Continuing on with the series, this volume is about Kamala making tough decisions with the world about to end. She finally meets Captain Marvel and the bad guy is starting to attack her family. Lots and lots of stuff happening but it's not overwhelming. As usual, illustrations are great as well as the story line. The additional story is from Amazing Spiderman team up with Ms. Marvel. I loved this because it showed the introduction of Silk! Plus anytime the Krees are involved, it always makes for good fighting scenes. ( )

When a giant planet appears in the sky over Manhattan, sending people fleeing across the river, Kamala Khan must do what she can to protect Jersey City. Which includes both a team up with Captain Marvel and a quest to rescue her brother from her jerk ex-crush. Also included in this volume is two issues of Spider-Man where he and Ms. Marvel team up.

Kamala teaming up with Captain Marvel is full of delight although the big conflict of this arc (a giant incoming planet) feels like it's part of a bigger Marvel event that I didn't really know much about it. However, it did serve as a great motivator for Kamala to have some honest conversations with the people around her, which I loved. I'm pretty sure I've read the two Spider-Man issues before in the massive [Spider-verse] tome but I'm not 100% sure. I'm interested to see where the series goes from here as the final panels of the Ms. Marvel comics were both beautiful and pretty cliffhanger-y. ( )
