This was a really meaningful book to me as a young wife and a young Christian. Maxine Hancock writes more about how to "like" the frugal life than tips on how to "live" it. That's okay, because it was published in 1977 and how-to tips would be outdated 40 years later (she gives a few). The scriptural basis of the book is St Paul's "I have learnt in whatever state I am to be content" (Philippians 4:11) and she has quite a bit to say about how she, and others, learnt that lesson. ( )
