Kris Waldherr is a skilled artist, and her talent shows in this gorgeous volume that features 26 goddesses (one for each letter of the alphabet) with a myth each goddess is associated with. The stories are informative, but the illustrations are what make the book.
Slim book with dazzling graphics of twenty-six goddesses from different countries around the world. A nice addition to my collection, if only for the artwork.
This book includes information on various goddesses from around the world including not only classical Greek and Roman goddesses, but also goddesses from India, China, Japan and North America. Each goddess has two pages dedicated especially to her with a painted portrait on on page and the opposite page contains the background information on her.

I enjoyed reading about goddesses that I had never heard of and learning new things about goddesses that I thought I knew.

curriculum connection: Choose a goddess from the book and write a brief description of the country in which she was revered.
