A beautiful book about a girl exploring the Grand Canyon Ecosystem and learning to treasure her experience of the great outdoors. The rhyming text by Scanlon makes this an engaging read and the illustrations by Ashley Wolff depicts the natural beauty quite well. ( )

The book takes us through the Grand Canyon and gives vivid descriptions. It allows for opportunities to draw images in your mind. There are many animals and views to picture mentally. ( )

This is a great depiction of what the habitat of a canyon looks like. The wonderful illustrations and all of the species of animals that are included gives plenty of opportunity for children to use their imagination.

This was a realistic fiction book about a little girl who traveled to the Grand Canyon. It talks about the things that she brought with her and described what she was seeing and what was happening. It would make a good mentor text for describing places or about the grand canyon or desert terrain. ( )
