Description
Paranormal investigator Ellie Jordan faces a difficult new case. Her new clients are a family haunted by multiple ghosts and a poltergeist that wrecks their home at night. Their seven-year-old son's invisible friends may not be imaginary at all but the restless spirits of dead children. To clear her clients' house of the dangerous entities, Ellie must unravel the mysterious deaths of another family who lived in the old mansion more than a hundred and sixty years ago, and she must do it show more before the ghosts can carry out their malevolent designs on her clients and their children. show lessTags

Ghost hunter Ellie Jordan’s newest case involves a house built in 1841 that has a lot of activity. Things get moved around or thrown, water dripping through the ceiling when there are no pipes above it, facets turning on… The house is dark, depressing and getting expensive for the family of 4 living there as house sitters for the past couple of years as they need to keep up the maintenance. Finding out who and why is both interesting and dangerous as this group of ghosts have the ability to kill you.
While I can’t say my heart was racing, the tempo of my pulse did pick up in a number of scenes, and as someone who has had quite a few experiences with the paranormal, there is no way I could have faced –and still functioned—the show more activity and entities described. Wow.
The who, why and resolution were kind of surprising. The characters, especially the teenage daughter and 8 year-old son are believable and likeable, and it would be cool to see them again.
I like the fact that Ellie, her tech assistant Stacey and their psychic consultant Jacob are not portrayed as either kick-butt or fearless; just determined to get the job done, even when shaking in their shoes. show less

Cold Shadows
Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper Series #2
By: J. L. Bryan
Narrated by: Carla Mercer-Meyer
Ellie continues with her scary adventures and it is just as good as book one! Love this series so far! Great ghost series! A family is plagued by ghosts and or a poltergeist. But what happens is beyond weird! So good!
The narration keeps the suspense up, great job!
