( ) No one does alphas like Harper Sloan. Nick is so alpha. Sigh....This book left me with that happy, book hang over feeling. Full review at The Book Disciple Its always a huge treat for fans of a previous series to get to get the stories of the children. This is the third book in the break-off series and I love them as much as I did their parents stories. Nate Reid.. I didn't know how his story was going to go. He was such a little turd growing up torturing his sister with all his teenage masturbation. It was both fitting and humorous on the career/job he finally made happen for himself when he grew up. Even though he broke Ember's heart a time or two before finally manning up and claiming her – in his mind he did it for the right reasons and was willing to do what ever it took to show her he was finally ready to be that forever man for her. Ember Maddox.. Not surprised that she was such a sweet artistic soul. As with Dani Reid she knew from a very young age who she wanted and that was Nate. She had to go through some heartbreak and waiting for Nate to grow up before she got him but it was a bittersweet journey that was worth it in the end. Cant wait to see who is up next in the series.. no reviews | add a review

Nate: It's nearly impossible to be surrounded by love but not understand it. My parents, my sister, and just about everyone around us has no trouble accepting that love. To give your trust to someone else and believe they would die before hurting you. I've witnessed it-I've seen the power of it-but I've also seen the pain. Because for me, I've only loved someone I could never have, and my biggest fear is that by giving her my love, all I would do is ruin her. I should have tried harder, but I'm not sure I can because I only feel complete when I'm with her. Emberlyn: The only time I feel like I belong is when he's near. His infectious smile warms me straight to my bones. Any insecurities I have vanish with just a wink from him. A sliver of his attention makes me feel invincible. But all it took was one drunken night of truths for me to lose everything I had begun to crave. Now, I'm not sure how to move on because I only feel complete when I'm with him. He said I was too young. I said he was perfect. He said our families wouldn't understand. I said we could weather any storm. He said he would ruin me. And he was right.
