Pigs Ahoy!

I thought this book was very fun, and I always love when they have a good rhyme scheme throughout. A man takes a Cruise and ends up rooming with 9 pigs. They are a rambunctious group, but so much fun. They end up causes a big ruckus at the captain's dinner and get kicked off of the boat. Some sailors put them in a tiny boat and make them paddle home. The man misses them the rest of the trip and becomes increasingly bored. When his vacation comes to an end, he returns home to find the pigs waiting for him at his house. They have made a huge mess, but he is happy to see them, so the celebrate!

A man is going on a cruise. He finds himself lodging with pigs when he gets there. They're rambunctious little pigs, and get themselves into all sorts of crazy things. Although they are banned from the ship, the man finds himself missing them. His trip is terribly boring without them, but he is surprised to see they haven't gone very far, for they are waiting to see him when he gets back home.

Good read aloud, good rhyme scheme and rhythm. Pigs on a cruise, they are very unruly.

I just cannot get into these pigs books by McPhail, though I love many other works by him. I guess I'm too persnickety and stick-in-the-mud.

Review: This book is a good example of fantasy because it combines the world as we know it with fantasy. The cruise ship passenger boards the boat only to find a herd of pigs aboard with him who have human-like behaviors.
Level: Primary and Intermediate

I enjoyed this cute tale about a man who takes a vacation and ends up sharing a cabin with some crazy pigs. This is a silly, rhyming story.
