This is not usually a book I would pick up to read. Oh my goodness, devour it I did, though! Until you start getting into the story, it will throw you a bit as they are in and out of the Quiet, but it is rather easy to follow afterwards. It kind of reminds of Divergent meets the Matrix. This series is full of surprises, especially after he meets Mira and Eugene. I can't wait to see what the future is going to hold for Darren and Mira. I am looking forward to seeing Darren continue to search for answers about his family and learn to test his skills.

I read The Time Stopper first and then I read this set. I liked The Time Stopper but I like this even more. Darren is the main character and he has breezed through life because of his ability to step outside of time. He can look at the answers to test this way and graduates from Harvard at only 18 years old. Everything he does it just to get a high paying job quickly. He knows he can use this ability to get ahead but he doesn't really understand where it came from or even how he is able to do it. #MindDimentions

Then while winning at a casino he meets Mira. For the first time ever when he is in the Quiet as he calls it, there is someone else moving around. Wow, he has finally met someone who could do what he did. He chases after her and loses her but has a friend look up information about her to track her down.

He ends up finding her brother who is eager to study Darren. Darren can stay in the "Quiet" longer than anyone he knows. There is a lot of action in these books as Darren gets shot at and chased. He is so confused. He doesn't know who he is. Is he a reader, a pusher?

He saves Mira's life one day by pushing someone to do something and Mira is so angry at him. After all Pushers killed her parents. They are her sworn enemy. She doesn't kill Darren because he saved her life but she does not entirely trust him. Her brother has to step in and speak up for Darren.

Some people, Readers, help them out of another dilemna and they meet more people who are kind of purists and don't like the fact that Mira and her brother are half breed readers. They still help them though.

In the end, there is a twist in this story that you will never see coming. How could it possibly be? Read the story for yourself and you will see how everything that Mira has ever known all comes into question.

I really got into these books once I started reading them. There was plenty to keep me interested. There is plenty of action and the story is not slow at all. I was never bored or just reading to get to the good part like I sometimes have to do with books. This one was good the whole way through.
