If this was a parody of mystery thrillers, it might rate higher. Unfortunately, the author was serious when he composed the ludicrous plot with more bodies and threads than we can keep track of -- few of them plausible -- and numerous murder attempts on the good guys, who then go dashing off as through they hadn't just been seriously injured. What a mess. ( )
