The monkey in Hank the Cowdog and Monkey Business is a circus monkey whose box fell off one of the circus trucks that pass by the Lopers' ranch. Once the monkey is free, Hank shows a very unlovely side of his character by using the monkey to bully Drover and the ranch chickens. (Pete the Barncat isn't made happy, either.) Hank thinks he has it made until the monkey has other ideas. The tormented dogs take refuge in the house. Will they be safe? If the monkey comes in, how can they keep it from making a big mess that's sure to set off Sally May Loper? As Hank has reason to know, Sally May has deadly aim when she throws things. She's quite fond of throwing rocks at our favorite cowdog when she's mad at him.
