This is another book from my friend's inherited library that is going into my Little Free Library. I figure there's a chance someone in the neighborhood might be contemplating getting a chinchilla, so it's worth putting in the LFL.

This is one of those manuals you find in the pet store. It gives the history of the animal, where it is from originally; the basics of housing the animal, feeding it, and caring for it properly; and it explains the basic temperament of the chinchillas, helping establish if you can successfully look after one and whether it will get along in your household.

This is definitely a must read for anyone considering a pet chinchilla, as it goes into detail about possible health issues, common problems with diet and living conditions, and several reasons why your home might not be the best place for one of these cute little guys. ( )
