5695. America and Vietnam The Elephant and the Tiger, by Albert Marrin (read 13 Jun 2020) This book was published in 1992, so it has a certain distance from the war and is given to make judgments with some of which I am not sure I agree. I lived through the whole war but found the book eye-opening at times. It is a sad event and many mistakes were made. Now, it is clear we should never have gone to Vietnam but at the time it seemed we did right. This is a sobering book, but I found it unfailingly absorbing reading. ( )
