A reasonable collection of vaguely fantastical stories with a Christmas tinge. I enjoyed the first half more than the second. A couple were so bizarrely complex (and frankly infodumpy) that I couldn't be bothered to read them, while there were also a couple of very grim stories that felt bizarrely out of place in what seemed to be presented as a pretty light-hearted book. I dunno, I don't think the violent drug-dealing with child abuse (and no actual Christmas connection) was remotely appropriate, while Rudolph as a spree killer and a peculiarly gory but frivolous war were also very far from my expectations. Otherwise fine. ( )
