Fledgling is a book that captures a falcon's first flight. He is just beginning to fly when he realizes there is a hawk chasing after him. He flies all over the city trying to escape only to realize he is lost. He hears his family calling to him and makes his way home.
I didn't find this to be a very interesting book. I'm sure there will be students who will like it. I think you could use it science class or when doing a unit on birds. ( )
