Spong's analysis of the the Gospel stories as well as his hypothesis concerning the actual order in which they were presented during the liturgical year of the first "Christians" are quite convincing and provide valuable insights into the meaning of the Gospels.
Offers a more inclusive view of the gospels based on its Jewish roots and the tradition of midrashic stories. Not one for the Bible belt!
