"If Penny Brighton didn't have bad luck, she'd have no luck at all. She lost her job. And her apartment. In the same day. But it's okay, her friend has a cozy storage unit she can crash in. And there's bound to be career opportunities at the neighborhood laundromat--just look how fast that 12-year-old who runs the place made it to management! Plus, there's this sweet guy at the community center, and maybe Penny can even have a conversation with him without being a total dork. Surely Penny is a capable of becoming an actual responsible adult, and if she can do that her luck's bound to change! Right?"--From back cover.… (more)

It took a while for me to get into this one, or to like Penny, but by the end it was fun. I'm still not sure how much actually happened (the assassin kids that randomly showed up??) but I enjoyed it a lot and understood where Penny was coming from. Tho...did she not have parents....? ( )

In this cute and quirky graphic novel, Penny has quite possibly the worst luck in the world. Having lost her job and her apartment, she moves into a storage unit and wheedles her way into a new position at a laundromat operated by her friend's family, which means it is also unfortunately under the management of an aggravating twelve-year-old kid whose objective is to make her life a living hell. This was a fun romp which takes some unexpected and eyebrow-raising turns. ( )

This was quite fun. Penny is anything but lucky. She has the worst luck and it gets her and others in to trouble. It’s so bad that Penny moves into her friends storage unit since she can’t afford a real apartment. But even living in a storage unit is still troublesome, especially when she falls in love. What starts out as a con to get a free shower at a gym, becomes friends and more. This story was a nice change of pace. I wish it was in full color but that did not inhibit any part of this read. ( )
