Gracie MacDougal quits her high powered job as the Manager of a chain of luxury hotels and heads to Seagull Point where she vacationed as a child and happy memories.Knowing no one and feeling out of place, Gracie rents a cottage and methodically fixes it up. While doing so, she realizes that she does not want to go back to working as she had abroad, but would rather open up a Bed & Breakfast in Seagull Point. Gracie sets her sights on an old Victorian that appears to be abandoned. As Gracie begins asking questions about the Victorian home, she learns it is owned/held by Kevin Patrick Daniels. Gracie’s first encounter with Kevin leaves her with a bad taste in her mouth. She comes upon the sex Kevin in a hammock sipping lemonade and he show more steadfastly refuses to even discuss selling the Victorian to her. Kevin is just taking a break from his greedy relatives, since his Uncle name him Executor of his will, and his real job as an Estate Lawyer. Gracie leaves thinking Kevin is a lazy individual who has way too much time on his hands.Since Kevin turned down Gracie’s offer, she is going to make it her mission to get Kevin to sell her the Victorian. Not really knowing the background of the house or who actually owns it, Gracie sets out to see what she can find out about it. The town is very closed mouth regarding it, but Kevin’s crazy Aunt Delia gets it into her head that Kevin and Gracie would be great together and enlists the help of others to try to push them together. The story of Kevin and Gracie coming together is comical and filled with down home southern charm and hospitality as well as lots of highs and lows. Kevin’s cousins make the story have some unexpected twists and turns and eventually Gracie comes under Kevin’s spell. Along the way, Gracie’s old boss, Max, enters the picture, assuming he could lure her back to France. It doesn’t go quite as he planned, Max returns to France very happy. The book ends with the typical HEA ending, but I loved how it got there. show less

Early writing by this author; burnt out from her job, Gracie moves to coastal Virginia and trying to buy a picturesque Victorian to turn into a B&B, but Kevin isn't interested in selling…but he's becoming interested in Gracie.
Gracie retreats from her European hospitality job to a small Southern town where she opens a B&B and finds true live in this frothy romance
