- About My Library
- I own a vast variety of all types of fiction books. I adore contemporary fiction, chick-lit, suspense, thrillers, dramas....you name it! Of course I love Amish fiction, but have since branched out to the books of Gillian Flynn, Lisa Kleypas , LuAnn Rice, Jennifer Weiner, Sherryl Woods, and I absolutely love the low-country stories by Dorthea Benton Frank. I love books based in the South, especially ones with snarky dialogue. And thanks to this site, I have broadened my span of genres and now can say I love many different types of books, and no longer am locked in the narrow genres that I was before. I still don't enjoy sci-fi or fantasy, nor do I read erotica or political fiction.
Besides reading, I love to cook and bake and have over 1500 coookbooks also. I have not listed them here on LibraryThing as it seems like a very overwhelming task at this time! I hardly ever watch tv, as I have my own library at my disposal at any time, and I have found that my imagination is normally MUCH better than a movie anyway. And last but not least...I am a kindle junkie - you will rarely find me without my kindle and I love that I can carry my large collection with me wherever I go.
As I mentioned before, I love finding new authors to read and I enjoy writing reviews, so please feel free to contact me if you would like for me to review a book for you. I regularly submit to Amazon, Goodreads, and here on Librarything, and I also submit my reviews to a blog where I am a guest reviewer as well. - About Me
- Obviously I love books, so that's a given. I have found that my taste in books is constantly evolving - where once I was only reading Amish fiction and historical western romances, I now have found so many other authors that I adore! I just became involved in a reading circle at work, where my co-workers and I swap the books we read with each other. I guess this is how I have come to broaden my horizons so much and is also how I have become exposed to so many great authors that I would never have even began to read before. Although I still enjoy reading the Amish fiction, I have found so much more out there that I now have a vast selection to choose from whereas before I limited myself to certain genres. This reading circle is probably one of the best things that I could've become involved in as it has really changed the way I select the books I read.
Reading is a form of vacation for me...it takes me away to places where my imagination takes over and provides me with a way to decompress and to escape to a place where love ALWAYS wins and everything is always "Happily ever after". With the way the world is today, I enjoy actually reading books where the underdog comes out ahead, and the good guy really does win.
I listen to audio book cd's on the drive to work everyday as well. I find that audio books that are read with characterization are my favorites - the ones just read by a monotone reader do not work for me...I can do that myself!!
I collect cookbooks, and love anything to do with cookie decorating and cupcake making. In the perfect world I would own my own cookie/cupcake catering business.
Lastly, I absolutely love the Early Reviewers Program! I have received many great books that I have totally enjoyed and have shared with others so that they may delight in them as well! Oh..forgot to mention the Member's Giveaways - I have found so many great new books this way - thanks to all those people for sending me some great books to review - you all are so talented! I love finding new authors, and I always keep a list of every book I receive so that I will be sure to review it when I finish reading. Both of these programs are so awesome, and I am thankful to be part of them. - Location
