This is a two-volume boxed set of the first ten issues of the Captain America comic book, detailing his origin, how Bucky becomes his partner, and he fights Nazis in WWII. Notwithstanding the times, I have never been overly impressed with the art or the stories here, but it is of historical significance and very nicely reproduced. The stereotypes and racial denigration here are not particularly appealing, but it is interesting to read how American boys saw the Allied-Axis conflict and to contemplate the hold that this comic must have had on them then.
