"Thumbleby Stumbleby", 23 Oct 2014

This review is from: Vinegar Works: Untitled Book (Paperback)
A series of rather ominous pictures, each featuring the same view: a window of a house looking onto a garden.
The accompanying text for each is a nonsense word: "Hippety wippity"; "Thip"; "Quoggenzocker" - and in each something strange is happening. As a little Victorian boy looks out of the window, there's a riot of activity with giant insects, a critter coming up from under the paving stones and a great frog climbing over the fence...
Interesting if not one of Gorey's best. ( )
