Every Night Josephine is the memoirs of socialite Jacueline Susann (Valley of the Dolls) as she recalls her life with her beloved pet poodle Josephine and the ups and downs of having a poodle as your only child while living in a lavish apartment in Manhattan during the late 60's.

I read this book in '98 when I came across it on a relatives bookcase. Having read every other book she owned, I wasn't expecting much. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the humor, and lightheartedness of this standalone.

If you have the opportunity to read it, I suggest you do -- when you need to read light and fluffy either when you can't decide on something else, or if you want to banish the feelings leftover from a dark or emotionally trying book.

Every Night Josephine is the literary equivalent of peach sorbet as a palate cleanser. It is available in paperback on Amazon, however you might be able to locate an e-book version if you hunt around. ( )

A wonderful book about Jacqueline's poodle, Josephine, who trained the Susaan household - her way. A great read that will make any pet owner laugh out loud. ( )

The adventures of the World's Most Spoiled Poodle! Josephine lives in the lap of Broadway luxury with owners author/actress Jacqueline Susann and agent/producer Irving Mansfield. Josephine eats too much (chicken and cake! yumm!!!), has her toes painted to match Jacqueline's manicure and meets celebrities. All dogs should have it so good! A charming read that moves along quickly and has you thinking "I really need a poodle!"

One of the first me and my dog memoirs. Josephine was a pampered pooch long before today's cult of the canine began. Very funny, but probably the best part of the book is the cover, which shows Susann and Josie in matching leopard print coats and pill-box hats. Viva Le'60s. ( )
