What an amazing ride! This book was the ultimate thrill. From dark special ops, tricked out weaponry, countersurveillance, appealing characters, military tactics, there's NEVER a dull moment. Loved every pulse-pounding second. ( )

hat an unbelievable action-adventure and thriller by Steven Konkoly! The book is set in the 2030's, and the country has been in a twenty year drought, the worse in recorded history. California is only receiving half of their Colorado river allotment. Other states have been siphoning off water for two decades. California has something like ration tickets for everything, including time spent out of your county.

While in Washington, D.C., the Sentinel Group, the parent company of the big spending Cerbens Corporation has decided to have California's Congresswoman assassinated, because she is believed to be soft on the secessionist group, the California Liberation movement. Big money does not like this. Next on their list is a water reclamation engineer, Nathan Fisher. He went to get water from the sea when a highly trained military team sabotaged a nuclear power plant to blame CLM. Nathan seen them then tried to keep himself hidden until the coast was clear. Now he is trying to get his family to safety before it is too late.

There is so much going on throughout the book that you just must read! It is extremely good, the characters are easy to keep track of, and who knows? This may be our future in not too long a time. Forbid!

Thank you to Steven Konkoly, Thomas and Mercer and NetGalley for giving me a free e-ARC of this book to read and give my honest review. ( )

Congratulations to Steven Konkoly and Thomas&Mercer in producing an excellent book. I received this free from Netgalley. It's right up there with the top ranks of political thrillers, as good as the best.
Setting is California, 2030. Water rationing in western states leads to California becoming the leader in reclaimed resources. They institute the card system in which every product purchased is registered and tracked by the state. Resources are allocated per person and household and contests held to see who conserves the most. Movement developed to keep California's resources within the state- secede from the union. This pits big business and their political allies against the separatists. Politics become violent with the murder of California's Congresswoman.
It is so over the top, yet ads our political arena continues to degrade, not impossible to imagine. A chase involving guns, knives, bombs, grenades, drones, missiles and extreme danger everywhere, never letting up or slowing down. Anyone who likes the hunt or likes military action will love this book. ( )
