The New Guinea campaign is generally under-reported and the Australian ( exclusively, Australian ) even more so. The research is very thorough and the author did numerous interviews of surviving veterans. The writing is solid and evocative. I would have loved more topo inserts in a couple places to help make sense of the positions given the verticality involved, current aerials would help as well. Reccommended reading, especially here in the US where the Australian battles are less known. ( ) no reviews | add a review
