Who doesn’t get excited when they find a mysterious handwritten letter without any return address in their mailbox? It’s an irresistible temptation to rip it open and discover what’s inside. However, after reading this creepy horror story about a supernaturally evil mailman, you will no longer view your mail the same—ever! Well-crafted and eerily suspenseful, this book brings a whole new meaning to ‘going postal.’ By the time Doug Albin, an English teacher trying to enjoy his summer vacation, realizes something unusual is happening in his small town of Willis, Arizona, it’s already too late. Soon, his wife, Tritia, and son, Billy, are also being tormented by an unspeakable aversion that seems to be related to the new mail show more delivery man, John Smith. Horrible suicides, rapes, and murders follow while the residents of Willis try to make sense of what’s happening, yet are held helplessly under an evil spell delivered every day to their mailboxes. This book is scary and haunting. show less
Wheeee! Another fun summer read from Bentley Little. This time there's an evil mailman.
These books are so much fun. Stupid, route, trite - Yeah. But Little handles it all so competently. Lots of bloody horror with gore and jump scares between the lines. It's easy to read his books.
Doggo warning.
Off-screen dog death and on-screen dog gore. The human death and gore is by far worse. But Little's books are so hard to take seriously that you aren't upset by any of it. It's just so over the top.
I'm going to continue reading his books because so many of them are set in a pre-internet era and they are just so much fun. I need to give my brain a rest.

Little takes the innocuous, the familiar, and twists it into a grotesque carnival house of mirrors horror show. I think that I like Little because lines don't exist for him. I have read so many horror novels that don't cross lines because there are some lines too horrible to cross. Little doesn't even see the lines as he marches right across them. That is what is so horrifying about his books, they make you uncomfortable. They are not just scary, they are nightmares.
Granted, this is not his best, but still a great read for horror fans.

Once again Little manages to turn something normal and mundane into something sinister and evil. What a great story. This is one of Little's better works in my opinion. The characterization of the evil in this book was done superbly and while reading there was a genuine creepiness that I left with every time I put the book down. This is definitely one I would recommend. I'll never look at the mail the same again.
My dad loves Bently Little and recommended it. I liked some of it, but then lost interest.
Great creepy read. Hooked me on Little's books.
Nette Idee, spannend geschrieben.
