It is the spring of 1845 when Ben and his family set off on the 2,000-mile journey from Missouri to Oregon. All of the pioneers face grave dangers. But Ben faces one even more terrifying than hunger, bad weather and rattlesnakes. At any time on the trail, Ben could have a devastating asthma attack. The trail holds real terrors for him. Does he have the strength to face it all?
