This book follows Wendall and Floyd through an adventure in the lost and found, when their friend Mona falls in. They go through the adventure looking for a new lucky hat to turn their unluckiness around. This would be a good read aloud book for younger grades, as it is a little longer, but it is still easy to read and follow along.
In this story, three new friends, accidentally embark on an adventure into the deep dark unknowns of the lost or found bin. The three character are trying to find the lost, lucky hat without becoming lost themselves. They have to make many decisions along the way in order to leave with their lost item and return back to school before the principle notices. At the end, they realize the missing hat was in their purse all along.
