Iris Johansen is awesome. I could read her books all day. So keep them coming. ( )

I read the first 70 pages wanting to like this book, but finally gave it up due to the characters and plot being so fantastic and unrealistic. ( )

My first Iris Johansen novel, probably my last. I was intrigued by the premise, actually enjoyed the denouement, and even mostly liked the characters, but the tendency towards purple prose, particularly in the sex scene, was just too much, and completely ruined the book for me. It was bad. ( )

"Margaret" has always been on the run. Ever since she was young, she has had men out for her blood.
She's learned to enjoy her own company, to own very little and keep her spirits high by enjoying the little things.
When she's finally captured, she panics but slowly learns that not all humans are evil.

I absolutely loved Margaret's character. She was strong, funny, and I sympathized with her throughout the book. Definitely one of my favorite fictional characters of all time. ( )
