He needs to accomplish something all on his own-outside of his famous father's shadow. Getty Caster is running away from the abuse that clouds her past. I read the initial Driven series about Colton Donovan and his wife Rylee. This book turns to the second generation with Zander Donovan. Zander was a troubled child who was adopted at age 8 by Colton and Rylee. He has followed in Colton's footsteps to become a Race Car Driver but he also has the same kind of dark past haunting him. When his childhood comes back to haunt him he blows up and gets fired from the team by his father.
Trying to find a place to get away to think, Zander goes to a friends island house where he promises to fix it up in return for using the space. Unfortunately, his friend's wife had also loaned the house to her friend who was running from an abusive father and husband. Forced to share the house, Zander and Getty find that in their own pain, they find a way to heal each other.
I loved the relationships between Zander and Getty, as well as Zander and his family. THrough many tears, I was able to finish the book and think it is perhapd the best one in this series. ( )
