**I received a copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley. All opinions are my own and not influenced by my source.**

This book was AWESOME!

I was really blown away with the story we get. Uncovering why Eve has run away had me hooked from the get-go. And watching her grow-up and develop as a character was amazing. I love stories that let the lead grow through her experiences and its clearly visible to the reader. Plus, her story was one I have never come across in a young adult or new adult contemporary--which is fantastic!

And the romance...perfection! The chemistry is there from the start and it sucks you in. You see why these two would fall for each other because they start as friends and work their way from there. It was so, so sweet!

This book has a great balance between the plot and the romance. It reminded me why I love contemporary rockstar based romances!

"5 out of 5 stars!!!! Eve (Nesiah) has spent her life as a shadow of her true self in hopes of staving off the emotional and physical abuse she dealt with daily from her "father." Therefore, after confessing to her longtime friend about the abuse she received they device a plan to get Eve to escape. Once Eve ran away, she hides behind a false identity as a roadie and ends up meeting West (a famous lead singer). Over time, West breaks through Eve's defenses and their friendship turns into something more ... but soon Eve's past and the lies she's kept hidden come to light and might breakup the best things she's ever known. Will it all be too late to save her?

This intense YA rockstar romance had me riveted from the very beginning. I loved the innocent passion Eve shares with West and how empowered Eve becomes throughout this whole novel. Especially since the best part of this novel is..."

First things first: Rock Band! Now you know why I wanted to read Shadow of a Girl by Shannon Greenland.

With the help of her friend, Bluma, Eve has runaway. Because of her love of music she signs on as a roadie with a metal band, but realizes she hates metal and joins a music fest as a roadie; the headlining band is a rock band, Bus Stop. West, the lead singer for Bus Stop, is a player, until he meets Eve. She intrigues him, but more than that brings out his protective side. But Eve is running from Gideon, a man who has many, many resources on his side, and Eve knows that it would ultimately be dangerous to let West into her life.
