A review of the audio version, performed by Tim Curry. A perfect story for a long road trip. Axel and his professor uncle happen upon a scrap of encoded note from a 15th century savant. It promises to show them the way to the center of the earth, and uncle's imagination is on fire. He will not be stopped until he has done his utmost to achieve it.

Curry's narration is delightful, Verne's humor is subtle and sly. The adventure is a bit tame, but fun if you know something, or are learning about rocks and epochs of time. I must say that Axel, the nephew in the story is a ninny, but it only makes the story more funny. ( )
