Description
In this groundbreaking classic, investigative journalist Lynne McTaggart reveals a radical new paradigm-that the human mind and body are not separate from their environment but a packet of pulsating power constantly interacting with this vast energy sea, and that consciousness may be central in shaping our world. The Field is a highly readable scientific detective story presenting a stunning picture of an interconnected universe and a new scientific theory that makes sense of supernatural show more phenomena. Documented by distinguished sources, The Field is a book of hope and inspiration for today's world. show lessTags

There is a minor genre of books that attempt to provide justifications for mystical or metaphysical beliefs on the basis of modern physics. Lately, the ludicrous idea that "quantum physics" makes claims for psychic powers plausible has become commonplace among the New Age crowd. Lynne McTaggart's book The Field is probably the least unintelligent book arguing for this view.
I don't know how to say this as the complement it is meant to be, but I was very, very pleasantly surprised to find this book as interesting, useful, and engaging as I did when I got around to reading it. There is some duplication of information in the book, which does have the effect of getting the point across, but that does distract a bit from the book. I thought that this book would be something other than what I found it to be, which was a very straightforward reporting by Lynne McTaggart of research into this area. I was very interested in building one of the devices described in the book to detect the field, have discussed this with several people, and believe that there are multiple practical uses for such devices used to detect show more the Field. Great book. show less
Enjoyed the interesting ideas put forth in this work. The book did a good job reviewing the background needed to support the suggestions made in the new physical laws. My only sticks were that sometimes I felt the transitions between topics were a bit mechanical and the book seemed to have an abrupt ending with any forecast for the future of this emerging science, I recommend this book to anyone with an open inquiring mind.
This book provides an overview of all the scientific research that has gone into showing a higher level of connection. It shows to prove we are connected, not only to man but also to matter, through a high frequence energy field: the zero point field. This awareness explains how our reality is unescapably our own creation. There is no other, we are all one. This is no longer the field of religion or spiritual exploration, but scientifically proven. Enjoy the new world.
There is a wealth of evidence supporting some very unorthodox events but I'm not at all sure that it is related to the quantum fluctuation field. Still, the idea that quantum theory is just classical theory with the SPF enfolded is intriguing.
An interesting read based on Quantum theory, and that of the direct relationship that consciousness has within this sublime infinite field of possibility.
Informative and thought provoking book. Lynne McTaggart writes about quantum Physics and how it indicates that there is a "secret force in our Universe"... in terms even the layman (like myself) can understand.
