Not primarily a how-to book, rather an art book with the artist's thoughts on design, some technical details and hints on applique and quilting techniques, and a few basic patterns presented as inspiration. Profusely illustrated with photographs of Janet Bolton's pieces and one or two of her own inspirations. Chapters are ordered to guide us through the process of designing and constructing textile art; titles (in order) include Inspirations, Fabrics, Foundation, Cutting shapes, Composition, Turning under (applique techniques), Stitches to be seen (embroidery & quilting), Added objects (buttons and more), Framing, Step-by-step (pattern), Gallery, Templates.
