Disgraced Zhirrzh searcher Thrr-gilag navigates internal political strife and the escalating interstellar war with humans, especially after the human captive Pheylan Cavanaugh escapes. Thrr-gilag uncovers a conspiracy within his own people, realizing the war is fueled by misunderstandings and internal manipulation, with both Zhirrzh and humans unknowingly acting as pawns in a conflict driven by hidden agendas and technological clashes, particularly concerning radio interference with their Elders.
This entire series held my attention from start to end. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys of good space yarn. While the world-building might not be as complex as some of the great space operas, I enjoyed this almost more. Each characters was well-defined, with depth and flaws. The plot moved at a fast pace with twists and turns and humor and ups'n'downs. Excellent and enjoyable!
With this second installment, the series picks up a bit after the first book and the story begins to acquire more depth. Enjoyable, if not earth-shaking.
split between the humans viewpoint and the zhirrzhs’ viewpoint. Very cool. Realize everything is based on a mistake, cool twist.
