Mase Colt-Manning has always preferred his humble life as a Texas rancher to his birthright as the son of a legendary rock star. I've liked Mase since meeting him in Harlow's story and I've got to say I was a little surprised when I found out he was getting his own book. Mase Colt Manning lived up to every expectation I had of him. He was so overbearing and overprotective of Harlow that I knew whatever lucky lady was able to snag him, it would be 10 times more intense.

In walks Reese Ellis with her naïve demeanor and horrible upbringing. I knew about her learning disability before it was clearly stated. From the moment Mase found out I knew he would want to fight this battle for her as well. I also was super excited that we got a little more of Jimmy (I really wish that he was getting his own book). Jimmy is every single girl's best friend when they move to Rosemary Beach from a terrible past. I love his humor and wit; Jimmy is THE best.

This book wasn't my favorite in the series. I felt like it went a little too fast in the beginning. Things were kind of moving at lightning speed right up until the "climax" of the book. I felt like they're relationship grew rather quickly but when you spend time talking to someone as much as they did I understand how it happened.

Overall, I feel like it was a good addition and I can't wait to read part two of their story. Especially after the last sentence of the book. I already bought the second part may even start it tonight! ( )

My heart broke so many times during this book but nothing compared to when he said to himself that he lost her over a text message.
What he seemed to forget that it wasn't JUST a text.. it was all her demons, it was all the shit Jimmy had said, it was him not telling her about the crazy bitch stalking him, it was so many things then add one heavy dose of insecurity and worried and self doubt and the feeling of broken trust.
Guys only see the narrow picture. Even when they mean well.. it's black and white... I love Mase. He is one of my most fav characters.. so I guess that's why I was so disappointed in his reaction to "just a text message"...
Anyway. Great book... I am scared to read the next one. Oi boy.... ( )

This was the first book that I've read written by Abbi Glines. I really enjoyed it. There was a depth of emotion that was hard to ignore. However, the ending left me thinking there were pages missing at the end of the book. The characters, also seemed a little extreme - almost too well defined to be real people, but otherwise this was an enjoyable quick read. ( )
