Ryder Waites will do anything to keep the tiny town of Gallows Grove, Kentucky, from vanishing off the map-even sell his family's whiskey recipe to Bluegrass Bourbon in Lexington. Hopeful that the larger company can provide necessary improvements to the distillery, Ryder aims ultimately to get Gallows Grove on the Bourbon Trail... and bring in much-needed tourism revenue. But to keep producing Hanged Man Bourbon in Gallows Grove, he'll have to convince company liaison, unbearably stuffy and seriously hot Adam Keller, that he's worth the investment. Adam comes from an old-money family, but he's determined to make his own way in the world. When he's sent to Gallows Grove, he questions the life choices that led him to a rented room in a funeral home in a town full of macabre-themed businesses. And he doesn't know what to make of Ryder, the descendant of bootleggers, who's on a mission to save his strange town from extinction. When Adam and Ryder put aside their initial mistrust, the results are as smooth as good whiskey. But after Adam's assignment ends, he'll have to decide if small-town life and a future with Ryder are to his taste. Now that’s how you do a novella right.

This went down nice and easy just like the smooth bourbon it’s all about.

Ryder in an effort to save his small town and the family distillery, allows big corporate to meddle in his business, and in comes company man Adam, to make sure the humble operation is up to snuff. Though both sorta kinda want to keep it professional, there’s no doubt that the attraction runs high. Should they mix business with pleasure? Of course they should!

This was a really really nice opposites attract with a much appreciated plausible progression, a good amount of feels, all with great banter, a lot of smexy, and some very nice dirty.

If only all novellas could pull this off in such a short amount of words!!

Well, I, uh. *clears throat* I started this today and ended up reading it almost straight through because it's so damn fun. It's shorter than standard novel length I think, though not by much, and maybe there's more exposition than I'd normally like. But I liked it, so who cares? It's not a good book for those who hate puns, which, seriously? Who are you? Puns and sex! It doesn't get better! ( )

Whiskey Business is the story of Ryder Waites, and Adam Keller, a representative of Bluegrass Bourbon. This is told in third person from both Ryder an Adam’s povs.

3.5 Stars

Ryder is selling his family’s whiskey recipe, Hanged Man Bourbon, to Bluegrass Bourbon in Lexington. Bluegrass sends Adam to look over the small distillery to see if it’s worth renovating or move it to Lexington, which Ryder won’t allow over his dead body, but too bad he didn’t have a lawyer present when he signed the contract. The first time Ryder and Adam meet, it’s instant lust. Ryder shows Adam around the quirky town of Gallows Grove with its quirky business’ and their names based on death. Adam slowly loosens up and wishes he could stay, but he has a life in Lexington.

The writing is smooth, and for a novella, the author did a good job of filling in just enough of the characters, the town and the business for the story to feel complete. However, my personal preference, I would have liked more depth to Adam and Ryder, and I thought the conflict of whether or not the distillery would or would not move to Lexington was too easily solved. All conflict even between Adam and Ryder, was easily fixed.

The characters were distinct, including the secondary characters. Even the town was a character and the business names were amusing.

Whiskey Business was an enjoyable read, but I wish it had a little more depth and length. It just seemed not quite all there. I want to give this story 3.5 stars, but since Goodreads doesn’t allow half stars, I’ll give it 4 Stars.

“Ups and downs. Remember?”

This book is quirky, funny, sexy and hot. Set in a town with a creepy name with loud clocks and funeral homes with rooms full of creepy dolls.

Ryder and Adam have chemistry and are so hot together.

I laughed so hard.

The secondary characters are amazing and funny too.

"You're gay. He's gay.And you two did the horizontal tango......or whatever the phrase is.I don't know.Robert doesn't tango much anymore, horizontal or otherwise.Thank Lord jesus for the internet."

For a short book I was left satisfied.
The Epilogue is so cute full of rainbows, laughter, bourbon and lots of love.

Recommended.

"I want my ashes placed in bubbles, so you can all blow me."
