Enjoyable read with a slightly different type of male character, he doesn’t have the typical reservations about marriage that you get in regency romances. ( ) Well, I wanted to give this a 3 stars but just could talk myself into it. OK it was mildly entertaining and starts out fun and possibly good but then... every time there was something entertaining there was something irritating, and I mean really irritating. Here's an example, when you are having sex with someone you are lusting after you do not start obsessing about everything else. One the sex sucks and reading about it is even worse. Another no, no for me, when the characters never talk to one another about what is going on after many, many miscommunications or non-communications. You don't get married for a month and not talk about why there is no bedroom play, especially when there was play before the marriage. OK, the erectile dysfunction and how he handled it didn't work for me. I really didn't like the characters in the end because as long time friends, they should be at least talking a LITTLE to one another. The multitude of other relationships that are happening in this book are actually more intriguing than the main characters and all those stories have their issues too. Finally, stupidity, I just cannot abide by complete an udder stupidity by the heroine of any romance. A guy has his hands inappropriate places and is constantly invading her space, and she knows it is calculated, one does not go anywhere alone with this man. Not to be daring or any other reason. When a person gives one the willies, you avoid them and turn the other way. So, the best thing that can be said is that it was a quick read and mildly entertaining. The only problem is the whole story kind of kill the enjoyment of the entertainment. It is time to wander around with some more naked nobility. This time I have set my sights on the third book in the series, and we will talk more in depth with The Earl of Westbrooke, Robbie. Robbie was seen as a character in both The Naked Duke and The Naked Marquis, and in those stories he saw his to best friends get the terrifying leg shackle. Something Robbie reverently avoids, he has become very adapt at escaping the parsons mousetrap. Or is that what he really wants? Is Robbie truly afraid of marriage, or is he afraid of something else? We will find out in this story that Robbie has a terrifying secret, and no matter how much he loves Lady Elizabeth, he can not marry her. And he does love her, its no secret that Lizzie the Duke of Alizarins sister loves Robbie, and among the ton it is not secret he casts the same glances. The Naked Earl is a fantastic story, just like the other two books. It does have a few small points that drag a little bit. But other than that it is titillating. And like The Naked Duke it steps out of some of the normal’s of the romance genre. We have a very bad villain, and also a villainess. You will even find a few soft mentions to BDSM, nothing to terrify your senses. But the villains to make a mention of it. Over all if you have enjoyed the other books in the series you will like this one. If you havent read the others you will want to so you know who all the characters are. Although you could get away with just reading The Naked Duke. So if you’re a romance reader join me in giggling at the romps of the Naked Nobles, Robbie is sure to make you laugh! And I thought MacKenzie's THE NAKED MARQUIS was awful. Usually authors get better (or should get better) the more books they have under their belt but MacKenzie proves the exception to the rule. This heroine was nearly as TSTL as Emma in THE NAKED MARQUIS, but Elizabeth certainly had her share of different stupid genes, and poor 'ol Robbie-Boy had his share of bedroom hang-ups. Which was probably a good thing because every other character in the book was humping and pumping (or swiving and plowing as MacKenzie said over and over and over and over again ad infinitum). Can we say wall-banger? Which is sad because MacKenzie seems to have talent, seems to have a feel for the period. Fine tune the characters, tone down the caricature dirty old & young men, do all her heroines have to be so stupid and naive? Oh, less is more they say. Closing the bedroom door once in a while can be more exciting than the voyeurism the reader has to sit through. Maybe I'm just an old broad past her prime but it's no turn-on for me to read about creepy men who treat women with so little respect. I cannot recommend this book, but the blame lies not with the characters but their creator. no reviews | add a review

HTML: He Took Her By Surprise When a naked earl climbs through the window into her bedchamber, Lady Elizabeth Runyon does the proper thing: She screams. Loudly. And then…well, Lizzie has had enough of being proper. She wishes to be bold. Wanton, even. She won’t be commanded to put on her nightgown. Just this once, she will be absolutely daring… She Returned The Favor Robert Hamilton, Earl of Westbrooke, has no intention of being tricked into marriage by a detestable female, and if he has to flee naked across a rooftop, he will. Jolly good there’s an open window waiting—as well as an undressed, slightly drunk, and alluringly beautiful Lady Elizabeth. Oh dear. If they are caught together, he might have to marry her. The idea is delicious…and the temptation is irresistible… .No library descriptions found. |
