Going to be an interesting series with the MacLean curse causing stormy weather whenever they get upset. Knew Fiona loved Jack to create the marriage. Fun reading with her ways of proving Fiona could enter gambling hells just like he wanted to do. Liked how Fiona taught Jack to notice the servants and how they reacted to weather changes. Sexy scenes but with taste. Surprises at the end with what Lucinda as Lady Featherington and Adam Campbell were willing to do to keep the feud going.
Karen Hawkins delights fans of Scottish Romance once again in this first of a new series about the highland MacLean Family.

Black Jack Kincaid had his roguish heart broken years ago when the beautiful green-eyed Fiona MacLean changed her mind on his offer of marriage. To stop a feud between the Kincaid’s and MacLean’s, after her brother Callum is killed in a bar fight Fiona and her henchman Hamish kidnap Jack after he falls from his horse. He is drunk and unconscious when they get him to the alter but after swigging from Hamish’s flask Jack awakens long enough to take his vows. To convince the priest to marry them Fiona has told him that she is with child. Jack is very surprised when he wakes up the next morning married to show more Fiona.

Jack is determined that his marriage will not affect his rogue lifestyle. He flees with Fiona to his London home in order to be in control of the relationship. Once there, Fiona's beauty, passion, and kindness begin to warm Jack's cold heart.

London experiences a stormy season as the MacLean brothers follow to make sure their little sister is happy in her new marriage. An ex-lover of Jack's who wants him back in her bed and a member of the Campbell family who wants revenge, gets in the act to make trouble. When attempts are made on Fiona's life Jack and Fiona return to Scotland, where the mystery of Callum's death and attempts on Fiona's life are unveiled.

The story is sexy, witty, fast paced and pure regency highland fun!

The title is misleading - the abduction is question takes place almost at the beginning of the novel. Although some mention is made of a previous relationship between Jack and Fiona, without going into the details leaves the reader wondering why the couple is so quickly enamoured of one another. I also found Fiona to be a tad strident, verging on shrill, when demanding Jack to toe the line. Makes it hard to see what he sees in her. The weather-as-temper-indicator is original, though.
This Regency romance has a hint of the supernatural: a family whose bad temper is reflected in storms and rain. The plot revolves around a contrived marriage to end a feud, and Regency London intrigue. Lightly and well told, with only a few things that jarred me (e.g. USAian slang rather than British). The extended family of course means there are sequels as the other siblings find their own romance.

An okay read, but nothing overly great, hero was a piece of work and took me a while to like him. An improbable forced marriage scenario.

Loved it. It was fun and sexy! Loved the passion between the main characters.
Thanks to a friend of mine who does, among other things, the romance novel purchasing for the King County Library System, I was introduced to these fun historical romances about a Scottish family with a quirky curse.
