Satisfaction

The book had a steady pace from the first to the last page. The thing is that close to the end a huge (and when I say huge I mean HUGE) revelation happened and the book decided to end. Not cool. You can't reveal something like that and then expect me to wait until June when the third book will be released. Again, not cool. I really want to see where this story is going and how it will end. I got invested in the story of the four Lawless siblings. I am not okay with the way this book ended. I want the next book now. Not only it will give us all the answers, it will also feature Drew, the older sibling and the one who is set on the revenge plan. I want to see how his lady will affect him, considering his character and how he is acting. I show more am hoping she will be more likeable than Carly. I got tired of reading about her insecurities and how she thought that Bran was using her to get what he wanted and didn't truly want her.

Ian has appeared in every single book I have read so far and I still love him. The sad thing is that Ellie and Riley are almost always mentioned and I didn't get the chance to see them. I am starting to worry and think that Bran and Carly will also disappear in the next book and it will be only, Hatch, Drew and his lady, which doesn't make me happy. And the fact (which is almost a guarantee) that Ian will appear in Drew's book doesn't make me feel any better.

Overall, I was satisfied with the book (see what I did there). I didn't feel like the main couple had any chemistry and I wasn't a big fan of Bran and Carly, but to be honest I was mostly focused on the revenge plot. It didn't bother me that the romance aspect didn't work for me. What bothered me is the waiting for the third book after the big bomb was dropped. show less

First Impressions
Satisfaction was a story that had me hooked from the beginning and show more even though it wasn't a perfect read as I was expecting, it delivered on many of my expectations. This is part of a serial plot line and this is brother 2.....Brandon. This is where we get more pieces to the puzzle that fall into place here. And we are also left with so many more mysteries and a cliffhanger at the end for the serial plot line (not to the romance itself as I want to make that clear). Its a story that brings together tortured souls who find common ground and instant connection to each other and learn to fight for one another.

Summary
Carly Hendricks is stuck in a bad spot. Her husband whom she is about to divorce was a money launderer and will be in prison for a long time. But her employer, a vicious cold woman threatens her sister and forces her to work for her for mere pennies of what she is truly worth. Its now been two years since there and she still has a few more years until she will be free. Then she meets Brandon, thinking it was a online date....but so much more than she expected. Brandon Lawless is determined to find justice for those responsible for their parents deaths, but he won't betray a woman he knows is innocent and in a bad situation herself. So he makes a deal with Carly....pose as his girlfriend and help him and his brother find justice....it seems like a easy arrangement until love comes in the path of all their well laid plans...

What I Loved
So many aspects of this story truly worked just right. The first one was how this book just grabs at your attention right away. And then we have the meet cute between these two that really surprised me actually especially with the set up of the first book. But Brandon is very different from his brothers. He has a darker past in his childhood than they do. And it still effects him in many different ways. But he has a code ....and a code he won't break even for his brothers and seeking justice for his family. I loved his honesty with Carly from the beginning, he wasn't out to deceive her but trust her to do right by his family. Both characters had such marvelous chemistry and a solid friendship foundation that forms so quickly. The plot of the story is guaranteed to keep you at the edge of your seat. And you won't be expecting some of the reveals as the story continues deeper. The romance between Brandon and Carly isn't so easy though. Brandon has some dark pasts that he hasn't come to terms with and it puts some road blocks in their relationship. What really made this book work was our heroine. She was such a breath of fresh air. She stands for Brandon and even when he hurts her she doesn't break up with him over it. But shows him she will stand by him even in his darkest moments. She had a blend of sass but also softness and femininity that drew me so quickly to her character. And the ENDING .....WOWZER!! I didn't see that twist coming at all.

What I Struggled With
The pacing of the book. (It could have been me, I read this over a few days instead of one sitting and was reading it in between football games lol )

Overall View
Satisfaction was a brilliant installment that dug deep emotionally, evoking a passionate love story that brightens into thrills and delights!
