Another winner from Susan Joby.
This book is a sequel to Alice, I Think. It's the story of a teenaged girl, now nearing 17, who was homeschooled for the first 10 years of school. Now attending a Alternative School, Alice finds herself on the verge of being "normal", if she can only figure out what that is. She is trying to navigate her relationship with boyfriend, Goose, thinking of losing her virginity. Getting involved with Young Christians, thinking of signing a virginity pledge. Oh, and she's a candidate in the Miss Smithers pageant, which is more about community service than beauty, right? Again, her observations about her life and community are, at times, laugh-out-loud funny and make for a great read.

Again, while I enjoyed the setting, and found some of the situations very funny, I didn't like the main character very much. I don't care enough about her to want to slap her.
Very funny series, better than the first.
My daughter liked this one just as much as the first. Full review: http://www.canadianauthors.net/j/juby_susan/miss_smithers.php
