This is a beautiful coffee-table book for those who want to trace their heritage from the British Isles. It was fun to leaf through this large volume and imagine all the resources for finding out about ones ancestry. It gives a different look at history that I found welcome -- a sort of people's history.

Kathy Chater is a well-known family historian who has made a particular study of Huguenot immigration to the UK and black British history.
