There are three reasons why I like this book. First, I like the rhyming, in each stanza. It is very catchy and appealing to young children. Second, I like the different characters in the book. The author puts a lot of thought into creating each of the characters because they all are from a different country and they all have one interesting fact about them. Lastly, I like how the point of view varies from page to page. Each page the author introduces a new character from a different country with a new interest. In my opinion, this is an excellent book to read to a class with diverse students. The book shows that although they all have a different culture and interests, they all have one thing in common and that is they are all Australian. Teachers can help students related themselves to peers in the classroom. How they all come from different countries and/or have a different background but they are all in the same classroom. ( )
