Kate ships tons of fictional couples, but IRL her OTP is her and Mick, the hot quarterback she's crushed on since, like, forever. With only one semester left of senior year, it's now or never if she wants to land him in time for prom. Since she's flirtatiously challenged, she enlists Cooper Callihan, the guy who turned popular seemingly overnight but who used to be a good friend. Cooper lives and breathes rowing, but his partner just broke his wrist. When he remembers Kate's good with a set of oars, he strikes a deal: help him train, and he'll make sure her crush notices her. Only he didn't know how addicting spending time with her would be. Or how the more successful the Operation is, the more jealousy he experiences. The mission has been set. The troops have their marching orders. But what if the target is the wrong guy all along? Disclaimer: This Entangled Teen Crush book contains stargazing, accidental swimming, and poker swindling. This kissing practice will melt your ereader....and give you a new couple to ship.… (more)

I haven't read a teen romance in a while and this is one book that will not disappoint. Kate is the nerdy girl and Cooper is the nerd turned cool guy. They're not BFFs but tolerate each other enough to be friends. Shipping fictional TV characters and Maths are her passion while astronomy and rowing are his. So when Kates decides that her last year in high school needs to end with her forever crush being her prom date and Cooper needs a rowing partner to continue with his training. they join forces. But what following in more that mutual cooperation and quid pro quo. Cooper realises that Kate gets him better than anyone else he knows and Kate can't help comparing Cooper with her crush Mick who seems to keep failing to match up to Cooper. Emotions naturally run high considering all those natural teenage hormones and what you get is a hilarious but sweet romantic comedy of a story. I am really looking forward to the next in the series. I totally shipped Coopate or Kater or however this is done. ;oD

This was a YA romance story between Kate, a quite dorky sort of girl and Cooper a rowing God, and a plan Kate has to go with a quarterback to prom. I liked Kate and Cooper, and it was a good YA books where the main characters both slowly fell in love with each other without even realising it.
It was all quite predictable as a lot of YA is, but sometimes you need a break from other types of romance stories to bring you back to earth in a sweet way. This was still an enjoyable story, although the pace was a bit slow. We also got alternating points of view, and a very hot first kiss! Ahhhh to be young again.
