Description

This is a new and masterly presentation of New Testament theology by one of the leading religious scholars of this century. It takes the unique step of setting up an imaginary dialogue on the central concepts of the Christian faith between the various authors of the New Testament themselves - thus capturing in a particularly fresh and lucid way the differing approaches and attempts of these first Christians to explore and elucidate their faith. The climax of the bookdeals with the theology show more of Jesus. show less

An amazing book in its scope, in its presentation of material, and in its depth. The author has masterfully presented his theology and expertly so. Caird offers a new way at looking at the great doctrines of the New Testament inasmuch as he sets up "debates" on subjects with arguments presented in "discussion" by the authors of the New Testament themselves. His grand finale, if you would, is a presentation of the theology of Jesus Christ himself. I recommend this book wholeheartedly.
