Description

Fans of the Cat Who... series get an intimate look at the private lives of those extraordinary Siamese cats Koko and Yum Yum--the most unlikely, most unusual, most delightful team in detective fiction. In this charming collection of feline antics, readers will discover why Qwill considers Koko a veritable clone of T.S. Eliot's Rum Tum Tugger, how Yum Yum was rescued from a burglar who is not above a spot of catnapping, and many more fascinating cat facts.

I haven’t read many of The Cat Who… books, so learning about these two Siamese felines was all new to me and I found it delightful.
Picked this book up from the library in order to finish a task on my 101 list. It was a super quick read about two Siamese cats, Koko and Yum Yum, who live with the writer James Mackintosh Qwilleran. The story starts off by explaining the strange circumstances by which Koko entered James's life and his search for a playmate for Koko, leading to Yum Yum. The short chapters that then follow re-tell different adventures the trio find themselves in and ponders on the rather strange but loveable behaviour that the cats (and cats in general) display. This book was quite sweet and funny, although may not be as funny for a non-cat lover.

This is a quick and fun read. Done in a journal format, it has tidbits about Koko and Yum Yum. How each cat came to live with Quilleran. Their quirks and habits. How they have helped solve some of the mysteries.

If you enjoy these two feline detectives and their adventures, then these glimpses into their histories is right up your alley.
A diverting, quick read for any fan of the Cat Who series. Although to say it is 160 pages is being rather generous. The font and page layout of this book contrive to make it seem longer than it really is. I read this in just an hour or two at the most. It's almost cheating to include it on this list.

It's also light in content - really just several short essays on one topic of cat-dom or another. Fun but by all means don't go out of your way to buy it.
Mildly amusing for an afternoon when you find yourself stuck in the blood bank waiting to give blood.
A quick insight into how Koko and Yum Youm became a part of Qwill's life. I enjoyed reading it.
It's really generous to call this mish-mash of fluff a 'book'. Anyone who has read most of the other books in the series knows that this material has been lifted almost verbatim from the previous books. No new material at all.

Really not worth reading.

Lilian Jackson Braun was born on June 20, 1913. After starting out as a copywriter for Detroit department stores, she worked for The Detroit Free Press for nearly 30 years. In the 1960s, her cat died in a fall from a 10th-floor window in Detroit. Neighbors later told her that someone pushed the cat. To work through her feelings, she wrote a short show more story based on the incident. The result was her first three novels, The Cat Who Could Read Backwards, The Cat Who Ate Danish Modern, and The Cat Who Turned On and Off. After an 18-year break, she published The Cat Who Saw Red. During her lifetime, she wrote 29 titles in The Cat Who... series. She died on June 4, 2011 of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease at the age of 97. (Bowker Author Biography) show less
