Description
In Venice stands a grandiose marble palace on the Grand Canal, a lovely but decaying building; its walls are peeling, and the wooden piles beneath it are in desperate need of shoring up. Only Signora Anna Maria Santarato stands between the rising flood tides of Venice and the decaying palazzo that is her home, and in its defense she takes her stand not only against the threatening waters but also against business interests, an insolent bureaucracy, ad even members of her own family, who seem show more to care nothing for the fate of palazzo. show lessTags
