Remington Frost must rescue the sister of his new stepmother, who's kidnapped by bandits. Phoebe and Remington are a nice couple, though I did feel a spark was missing. Still, it's a good western historical romance and Ms. Goodman is a good writer.

Jo Goodman has been posthumously awarded CBCA Vic's Leila St John Award by the Victorian branch of the Children's Book Council of Australia. The award is given annually for outstanding service to children's literature in Victoria. Jo Goodman was recognised in many areas including as former president of the CBCA Vitroia Branch.
