Kinda a little awkward at times, but I really enjoyed it. It reminded me of some of the works by [a:William Sleator|14004|William Sleator|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1206554364p2/14004.jpg], perhaps particularly [b:Singularity|938172|Singularity|William Sleator|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1348435254l/938172._SY75_.jpg|2788104], in that the SF was cool, but the personal stories made it worthy. I can easily see a young person reading this at age 8, and again at 10, and again at 12, and getting more out of it each time. I would have.

Btw, all the covers are bad. Don't judge the book itself by them....
