Lover’s Knot is a free Dory novella set after Fury’s Kiss. The mental wall between Dory and Dorina is down but their communication is still lacking. So when Louis-Cesare disappears Dorina starts sending Dory memories to help her understand what’s happening. Only it all happens so fast and with very little context it’s hard to figure out the warning.
This is a fantastic, fast-paced story that gives us more insight into Mircea’s early life as a vampire and more time with Radu and Kit Marlowe, two of my favorite vamps. We also learn about more enemies in the ever-growing war. This is a must read as it adds quite a bit to the overall story arc, just be sure to read it in order or there will be spoilers.

Another great novella by Karen. This story really gives you more of an insight into both Dory and Mircea. Full packed with everything you expect from one of Karen’s stories, it is hard to think that this is just a novella and not a full novel. I love how Karen manages to cram so much into her stories, even the short ones, that you feel like so much has happened. Once I start one of her books I just can’t put it down, and this was by no means an exception. If you like the Dory series (or even the Cassie series) then I would strongly recommend reading the novellas as well, as they add a whole litany of extra layers to her already fantastically written characters.
